The Weight of a Letter

Nicholas Wray’s paintings follow the material life of correspondence: the letter carried, concealed, reread, and returned.

Across six closely held scenes, paper becomes an object of unusual gravity. A hand pauses; a door remains closed; the contents of a page alter the balance of an entire room.

The exhibition considers the invisible force of what has been written but not yet spoken.
