About the show
Five painters gather after dusk, following garden paths, candlelit windows, and the peculiar confidence of a house once the guests have gone.
Their works attend to scenes that classical fiction knows well: an intercepted walk, a letter carried across the lawn, a carriage arriving late, and a drawing room seen from the garden.
Together, the pictures make an evening of restraint, weather, and barely concealed feeling.
