The same picture changes when it moves from one room to another. A portrait in the long gallery looks formal; in a smaller parlour, it begins to confide.

This season’s travelling display follows six fictional painters between the town house and the estate, allowing each setting to alter the story.

No viewing is incomplete. Each house supplies a different chapter.
